Abstract

With the rapid advancement of industrialization and urbanization, cities are facing ecological and environmental challenges such as environmental degradation, resource depletion, and ecological pollution. The ability of cities to resist ecological risks has declined, which restricts their sustainable development. This study selects the urban agglomerations of the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research area. Employing methods such as the CRITIC weighting approach, comprehensive weighted model, coupling coordination model, and grey relational analysis, the findings reveal that the coupling coordination degree between ecological resilience and new urbanization in these urban agglomerations remains in the adaptation phase. The coupling coordination degree between ecological resilience and new - type urbanization is affected by factors such as per capita GDP, per capita urban consumption expenditure, urban road network density, and per capita built - up area. Therefore, it is proposed that while improving the level of new urbanization, the level of ecological resilience and the coupling coordination between the two should continue to be enhanced. At the same time, the improvement of the coupling coordination degree should be promoted according to local conditions and classified measures.
