Abstract

As the next generation of cellular technology, 5G networks promise substantially increased speeds, capacity, and enhanced connectivity. Engineered for demanding applications such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 4K video streaming, and autonomous systems, 5G necessitates high-throughput and low-latency data handling. The evolution of these networks presents Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) with the challenge of adapting infrastructure dynamically to meet evolving demands and conditions. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are critical tools for managing this complexity, enabling real-time, autonomous network optimization. This paper examines the application of AI in 5G network planning, operations, and maintenance. It details how AI-driven approaches can enhance network performance, reduce operational and maintenance costs, and optimize service functions. The strategic integration of AI within 5G networks is expected to yield faster, more efficient communication systems and unlock new possibilities in global connectivity.
